It was late at night, the city was quiet as a German Shepherd patrolled the street in his cop car, looking around for vandals or any signs of thieves. He sighed quietly to himself, sipping some coffee to keep himself awake as he pulled up to a red light. He happened to glance over into an alley and see a figure standing in it, spraypainting something on the wall. His ears twitched and went back, he growled quietly and activated his radio.

“This is 38, calling in a vandalism. Looks like some punk kid, I'm gonna' nab 'em and bring them back to HQ.” He got out of the car quietly, sneaking over to the entrance to the alley. The vandal was short, they had a lithe body and pink fur, their cat tail flicking as they spray painted a “V” on the wall in pink paint.

“Just what do you think you're doing?” The officer said, stepping into the alley, growling quietly. The vandal gasped and looked up at him, a glowing yellow eye peeking out at him from under the hood they were wearing. He heard a hiss and the vandal threw the paint can at him, jumping up onto a dumpster and quickly onto the roof of the building with great agility, making a run for it. The officer gasped and ran back to his car, getting in and thinking. “She's gonna' run out of roof if she keeps heading the way I think she will. I'll cut her off.” He called in that whoever it was was making a run for it, leaving his sirens off and driving around the town block, the streets were deserted so he didn't have to worry about traffic. He pulled up and parked on the curb, getting out and hiding in the entrance to a shop. After a little bit off waiting, he heard footsteps above him, then silence. He heard a girly chuckle as the vandal landed from the roof near him, brushing herself off as she looked around, then started to walk away calmly. The officer slowly stepped out of the entrance and walked up behind her quietly, grabbing her wrist.

“You're not going anywhere, kid.” He said, pulling out his handcuffs. The vandal gasped and spun around, yanking at her wrist and hissing.

“Hey! Fuck off!” She shouted, kicking at his leg as she tried to break free. He frowned and pulled her close, flicking her hood off to reveal a pretty young cat, hair covering one of her eyes as she looked up at him.

“You're already charged for vandalism and resisting arrest, don't make me charge you for assaulting an officer.” He said quietly, glaring down at her with a strong authoritative gaze. She looked up at him and her ears pinned back, she sighed and looked away, holding her hands out.

“F-fine...” She said quietly, biting her lip. He nodded and cuffed her hands together, gently leading her to his cop car.

“Good girl, no more of that.” He said, opening the passenger side door and motioning for her to get in.

“A-aren't I gonna' ride in the back..?” She asked quietly, looking up at him worriedly.

“Nah, you can't do much now you're in handcuffs. Just get in.” He said softly, patting her shoulder gently. She nodded and got in, looking away from him and sighing quietly. He closed the door and got into his car, locking the doors and driving off. “This is 38, I caught the suspect. Bringing her back.” He said into the radio, stopping at a red light and sighing, sipping his coffee. The cat sat there silently, her hands in her lap as she looked away from him, her ears pinned back and her fur a little frizzed. He looked at her and sighed quietly, wincing.

“I know, I know. I'm the bad guy cop, I got you caught, and now you're in trouble. You hate me, blah blah.” He said, starting to drive again. The cat stayed quiet, biting her lip and closing her eyes. He sighed heavily and drove in silence with her, pulling up to the police station and getting out, opening the door for her. “We're here. Behave yourself and you'll probably get off lightly.” She got out of the car and shot an angry glare up at him, walking into the police station as her tail flicked rebelliously. He sighed and closed the car door, putting a hand on her shoulder and leading her in. He sat her down in a chair, pulling up another chair and sitting infront of her. “Okay, the basics. Name, age, phone number of your parents.”

“...Violet. 14.” She replied quietly, looking down at her cuffed hands.

“Violet..that's a pretty name. You're a little young to be out this late, aren't you?” He said quietly, almost in a caring way as he looked at her.

“I can take care of myself.” She said curtly, looking away.

“Yes, because writing the letter of your first name on an alley wall is “taking care of yourself”. Just give us your number sweetheart, and we'll call your parents and they'll sort this out. They won't be too happy.”

“They never are.” She replied quietly, then grabbed a pen and paper, writing down her number. He winced a little and took it, walking over to a phone and picking it up, dialing the number.

“Yes, sorry to call you so late ma'am..this is the police. Yes, it's about your daughter. Yes, she's alright, just a little shaken. We caught her defacing public property, writing her initial on an alley wall in spraypaint. Yes, you should come pick her up.” He sighed and hung up, going back to her and sitting down, looking at her. “They're on their way.”

She winced and sat there quietly, staring at the floor and not saying anything, then holding her hands up. “Can I..get uncuffed now? I..don't want my parents seeing me in handcuffs..”

He nodded and gently unlocked the handcuffs, putting them back on his belt. She rubbed her wrists softly, looking away still as her shoulders raised up timidly, her ears pinned back.

“You know, it's not safe for a girl like you to be out this late. You could have gotten hurt, or worse. Then what would your parents do? They might not know what happened to you.” The officer said quietly, looking down at her.

“Serves them right, I guess.” She shrugged, biting her lip. The officer sighed heavily and looked at her outfit, noticing she had a typical punk kind of band shirt on under her black hoodie, and black sports pants. Her hair hung over her right eye in a rebellious teen kind of way.

“Oh I see. You're the typical “tough girl” kind of teen, huh? The world is out to get you, you hate your parents, no one understands you, so you're lashing out to try and get attention. Am I right?”

Violet smiled softly in a smug way and shook her head a little. “Something like that.” She replied, looking up at him with a stuck up glare.

“Well let me tell you, girls who act like that don't usually end up well. Maybe you have things going on I don't understand, but..maybe you should try to behave a bit better, so I won't have to see you again. Okay?”

“Hey, I'm not out getting drunk, I'm not going to parties, I'm not running with the wrong kinds of furs, I'm not off being a slut. I'm doing pretty alright for myself, I guess.” She said, looking away.

“Mhm.” He replied, sighing. His ears twitched and he stood up, seeing a beige male cat and a pink female cat walk in. The female was wearing earrings, had a fancy black dress on, high-heels and some nice jewelry.

“Violet!” She shouted, her fur frizzed up. Violet winced and her fur frizzed as well, she stiffened a bit and looked down. “Just what do you think you were doing?!”

“I was just..having a little fun, mom, really..” Violet said back meekly, gulping.

“A little fun to you is spraypainting a wall, and running around at night behind our backs?!” Her mom replied angrily.

“It was an ugly wall, it already had like..tons of other graffiti on it. A little more wasn't going to hurt, it's not like anyone gives a fuck-”

“Shut up! What did I tell you about using that word?! You're going to show me that wall, and you're going to scrub every inch of it clean of graffiti!”

“But most of it wasn't-!”

“I don't care! That's your punishment! And if you think we're letting you out of the house for a while, you're greatly mistaken young woman!”

“B-but Logan's birthday party is next week, and he invited me-” Violet stuttered, her eyes watering.

“That's not my problem! I'll call his mother telling him you can't come! Wait a minute..where did you get the spraypaint?”

“I got it from a store...” Violet replied meekly, wincing.

“Did you pay for it with your own money?! Your allowance we give you?!” Her mom replied, almost hysterical in anger.

“I..” Violet bit her lip, looking down ashamedly. “I stole it..”

“You stole from a store too?! What is the matter with you Violet?!”

“Hey, I didn't think you'd want me spending my money on paint! And it's not like I could tell you what I wanted to do with it anyway!” Violet replied, standing up angrily and glaring at her mother.

Her mother grabbed her wrist, hissing at her angrily and yanking her over to her. “You're going to the store, and saying sorry to the owner for stealing from him! And then you're paying him back three times what the can was worth!”

“Fuck that! He was an ugly spiky-haired dog, I'm not saying sorry to that douche-” Violet gasped as her mother slapped her across the face, she teared up a little and looked up at her mom in fear.

“Don't you dare talk about your elders that way, young woman! And stop swearing! I'm taking you home before you embarrass us anymore than you already have!” Her mother shouted, looking at the officer and holding Violet's wrist roughly, her nails digging into it a little. “Do we have to pay anything, or can we go?!”

The officer, who stood there silently the whole time watching, sighed heavily and rubbed his forehead. “No, just go, don't worry about it.” He muttered quietly under his breath, “I don't want to deal with you any longer anyway.”

Violet's mother nodded and turned away, yanking Violet with her roughly as they walked out of the police station. Violet looked back at the police officer angrily, but also with a weak, helpless expression, tears in her eyes as she was drug out. The officer winced and sat down, sighing heavily and rubbing his eyes, his ears folded back.

“...poor girl.”

So like, this is my first story I've ever dared to post on DA. Most of the stories I write are NSFW or just for friends, so I don't really consider them DA appropriate. This is about my female OC Violet as a teen, she's a rebellious character and I wanted to give her a little more backstory than just "she had a bad childhood".

Also this was kind of inspired by Ellie from The Last of Us and Jodie from Beyond: Two Souls. XD
I know I probably made some grammatical errors or something but ughhhh. ;w; I'm scared to post it but I want some of my writing to be on DA anyway.

Also warning, swearing. xD
